We do pretend hair pulling scenes, where the scenario is either an unpleasant “forced” hair pulling, or the model enjoys the experience. All these are only acting by both the stylist and model. The hair pulling is only pretend, and done in a way such that there is minimal tension to the scalp. With the proper technique and acting by both stylist and model, it can look realistic without the model experiencing actual pain. The “forced” scenario is only acting; the model consented to the scene and acts out accordingly.
